Biographical
John Burnes has practiced for over 30 years with an emphasis on personal injury, property damage,(including insurance appraisal - Umpire) and construction claims with attendance before all courts in Ontario. John has served as Chairman of the Insurance Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association. In mediation work, John has focused on the ability to identify issues, be thorough, patient and persistent in focusing the attention of the parties on individual issues and resolution. This requires balance and communication to have the trust of all parties engaged.

Education
John Burnes graduated from the University of Toronto (1978 -B.A.) and from the University of Windsor (1981 - LL.B). John was called to the Bar in 1983 and subsequently completed the Harvard Mediation Workshop as presented through the Advocates Society (1995).
Memberships & Affiliations
John has served in a number of volunteer positions, including Chairman of the Banting Research Foundation (2000 to 2009) and as President of the Mary Centre (2007 to 2009).
